Job description

Melanie Casey is seeking a detail-oriented candidate with professional experience as a Bench Jeweler! This full-time in-person position will be responsible for ring resizing, stone setting, earring post and necklace assembly, and bringing raw castings to a final polish, etc. Hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional optional overtime. Training is provided to guide Jewelers through the nuances of our product line.

Our Andover, MA studio Bench Jewelers are seated at a dedicated bench outfitted with a bench microscope and set a wide range of diamonds and other precious gems. Each bench also has hand tools, torch, fume extractor, ring vise, etc. Laser welders are shared amongst a handful of benches.

Ideal candidates are meticulously detailed, love making jewelry, and enjoy participating in friendly studio life. Jewelers operate under minimal supervision, with access to our jeweler trainer when additional training is needed, and are capable of self-critiquing their own work with an inspector’s eye.

All applicants must pass an on-site bench test to be considered for this position. During the bench test, you must demonstrate tasks such as earring post assembly, ring resizing, 4-prong setting, fancy shape setting, and shared-prong setting.

Benefits include: health, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) with company match; generous paid time off and holidays; employee jewelry discounts; flexible scheduling; and programs that support employees' personal, family, and professional well-being. This position starts at $22/hour, based on bench test results and prior work experience. We employ jewelers from apprentice to master craftsperson, with a defined testing period for each level, clear production requirements, and corresponding rate increases.
